Cluneal neuralgia

services

Cluneal nerve pain arises from irritation or entrapment of the cluneal nerves in the lumbar spine and pelvic region. It is characterised by lower back pain accompanied by a burning sensation in the upper buttock, which tends to worsen with activity and may alleviate during periods of rest. Incorrect tilting of the pelvis or structural issues such as spinal stenosis can contribute to cluneal nerve irritation. This pain is believed to result from nerve compression at the iliac crest between muscles.
